DIY

It seems like brides everywhere suddenly transform into Martha Stewart wannabes when they start wedding planning. So many blogs I read feature DIY projects for everything from cake toppers to invitations to decorations. It's so easy to get sucked into this and think that you can do everything yourself too.

But 1. I don't have time and 2. I'm not very crafty.
I also get bored easily and have a hard time finishing what I start.

My mom yelled at me because our wedding favors are DIY and can't be assembled until the last minute. She's probably right that we're going to be too stressed out with a bizillion other things to do during the last week before the wedding, but I'm being stubborn and hoping that people will help. But it's turning into a beast of a project because I am never satisfied - it has about 6 different parts to it already and I'm still thinking of more things to add to it. My sister came up with the idea to create tiny paper flowers as the favor topper instead of my sticker labels that print crooked. Now we are going to make hundreds of orange flowers until our fingers bleed.

And it doesn't end there. I just found another blog that had this idea of DIY table numbers/guest books. The number is made of a notebook for guests to leave notes for the couple. How clever!

Then there are these cake toppers made with little birds and such, so I want to buy stuff from this Etsy shop and create some sort of stage/background for our figurines.

Then there are escort cards to think of and cocktail hour and ceremony decorations and wedding programs that I want to personalize and make myself. I'm obsessing over all these details and I shouldn't, I know, but I can't help it! Help.
