Cold and Hungry

It's a wintery 36 degrees (feels like 33) outside today in NYC, but it feels even colder than that in my office. The vent right above my desk has been blowing cold air on me all morning as I stare at this obnoxious shade of blue all over my computer screen.

So I'm going to go out and get some ramen to warm me up. At first I thought of going to Pro Bagel for some kimchi ramen, but then I remembered that they use the instant kind and just put a few slices of kimchi in it and charge $8.

I am exploring better japanese options right now:

Ippudo NY
Famous Japanese chain - supposed to be the best. But too far from me.

Minca
Sounds good, but also too far.

Menchanko Tei
Was going to go here until I read it was closed by DOH once. Yuck. Oh wait, that was the other location. Still...

Menkui Tei
I've been to the one in East Village and like it - should I try this one?

Sapporo
Tried Sapporo before and wasn't that impressed, but then again, I didn't get the ramen. Maybe should give it another chance.

Today I will go to Menkui Tei, as it is already late and it's closest to me. But I will try all of these - I'm sure I'll have many ramen cravings this winter.

I'm a ramaniac.

I keep a box of cup ramen in my cube for emergencies and a box of popcorn. It's also always handy to have chopsticks too.
